Dr. Burke has four degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has been practicingsince 1981. Dr. Burke grew up on a farm in Missouri and is one of the few people still aroundthat picked cotton by hand. After years of chasing cattle, fixing fences, chopping cotton andsoybeans, he decided to be a psychologist. He figured psychology was inside work with no heavy lifting. No more cotton picking.Dr. Burke and his wife Laura have worked together for 19+ years and they actually get alongwell. He can’t do what she does and she can’t do what he does; so, it seems to work out well. Dr. Burke uses humor to help people work on difficult issues…not because of some well thought out therapeutic strategy…he just can’t seem to keep his mouth shut.
